Thoughts on the birth of a dream

For all those reading, consider yourself an early adopter – you are definitely getting in on something big. The internet has always inspired me, although oddly enough it took me 25 years to take the leap and get involved in having my own website. What pushed me finally was an interview with Dan Carlin. He was discussing the rise of amateur production and podcasts in particular. He argued that the days of being a poser are forever gone – at least in the world of media. There’s no longer any need to change your style or approach to meet the lowest common denominator. There is in fact the exact opposite incentive. Create something that is beautiful and meaningful and which expresses your most authentic creativity. Once you’ve done that you will have no trouble finding and building an audience. And for whatever reason, that did the trick for me.

I have been holding on to a lot of artwork that I’ve been developing over the past few years. And that is just the art that was created in the .TIF digital format. I have several years of paper artwork still that I have not the intention – at this time – of publishing. I never believed my work was particularly special, but that’s the thing. It doesn’t have to be particularly fantastic, you just have to find those who it’s meant for. So that’s my goal with this website, and I want to thank you for getting in on the ground floor. This website will be a gathering place of my most meaningful art pieces. And of course, I will need to do the social media song and dance, but I’m no longer jaded and upset about that. I now see it as a way to share with the world that which I am sure will be adored by those who are meant to see it.
